Revitalized TNT eyes win as PBA Govs’ Cup back in action

MANILA, Philippines — TNT hopes the long conference break will do the team well as the Tropang 5G try to rev up their title-retention bid in the PBA Season 50 Governors' Cup with new import Nick Hornsby in tow against Terrafirma on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Following a long, seven-week break to give way to Gilas’ international tournaments, the PBA resumes, something that may have given TNT the needed long time off considering it started the conference without some of its key players. But in the tournament’s resumption, the Tropang 5G are welcoming back sharp shooter Calvin Oftana and veteran Jayson Castro, while Hornsby got some time to adjust with his teammates. Game time is at 7:30 p.m. with TNT shooting for its fifth win in nine games against Terrafirma, which enters the match with a 3-5 card. Both teams are looking for the all important win that can galvanize their Top Four hopes in Group A.
