MANILA, Philippines — Five-peat-seeking National University swept Arellano University, 25-12, 25-16, 25-14, for a third straight win in the 2026 Shakey’s Super League (SSL) Unity Cup on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.  The Lady Bulldogs survived a tough challenge early in the second set before cruising the rest of the way to remain unbeaten in Pool A of the league’s centerpiece competition, backed by Shakey’s Pizza Parlor, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, Potato Corner and R&B Milk Tea. Action resumes on Sunday with University of Perpetual Help System DALTA and San Beda University clashing in the curtain-raiser at 1 p.m. Adamson University and University of the East battle at 3 p.m. while Ateneo De Manila University and Emilio Aguinaldo College square off at 5 p.m. in the competition which has Philippine Sports Commission, the Commission on Higher Education, Mikasa, Asics, Rigour Technology, Jersey Haven, Solar Sports and 12 Beyond Production as technical partners. Ang ilan sa kanila ay naransan na rin magtrabaho bilang barker ng jeep, janitor, construction worker, waiter, vendor at marami pang iba. Nanggaling man sa hirap ang iba sa kanila at kinailangan pasukin ang iba't ibang trabaho, nagbunga naman kinalaunan ang kanilang sipag at tiyaga at nakamit ang kanilang swerte o "lucky break" sa showbiz. At kahit na sila'y sikat na ngayon at maaaring nakakaangat na sa buhay, hindi nila kinakalimutan ang kanilang pinagmulan. Alamin at gawing inspirasyon ang mga naging dating trabaho ng mga artista bago sila sumikat sa gallery na ito.
