Angara: PH schools focused on academics, unprepared for shootings

Education Secretary Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara said the country's schools need stronger security, adding that the agency has focused on the academic performance of Filipino learners. Angara said that the agency planned to roll out enhanced safety measures following the third case of deadly school shootings since June. “'Yong security measures, talaga kailangang paigtingin dahil hindi talaga kami handa sa mga ganitong shootings eh. Na-concentrate tayo sa academic performance ng mga bata,” Angara said.
