Somnuz Expands Bedroom Fit Guide for Mattress Singapore Shoppers with Expert Advice on Super Single Sizes, Natural Latex Mattress, Memory Foam Mattress, Pocketed Spring Mattress Comparisons, and Adjustable Beds at Its Trusted Mattress Store

Apr 28, 2026

Singapore, April 28, 2026 -- Somnuz, a leading Singapore-based mattress retailer offering best mattress singapore, today announced an expanded bedroom fit guidance initiative to help homeowners make more practical and confident mattress decisions. This enhanced support focuses on real-world room layout, super single sizing, material comparisons, and complete bedroom planning — empowering shoppers to choose the perfect mattress that fits both their sleep needs and their actual living space when buying online or visiting the brand’s dedicated mattress store.

Mattress buying in Singapore has evolved into a thoughtful, multi-factor process. Homeowners no longer focus solely on comfort and price; they carefully consider how a new mattress will integrate with their bedroom dimensions, existing furniture, walking space, and daily routines. In compact BTO flats, condominiums, and modern urban homes, every centimetre counts. Somnuz’s expanded bedroom fit guidance directly addresses this reality, providing clear, practical tools that connect mattress research with smart room planning before any purchase is made.

“Mattress buying usually begins with comfort, but practical fit matters just as much once the mattress becomes part of the room,” said a Somnuz spokesperson. “Our expanded guidance helps shoppers compare material feel, mattress size, layout considerations, and even adjustable beds together, so the final decision works beautifully in everyday use and creates a bedroom that truly supports better rest.”

The initiative gives greater prominence to material comparisons that matter most to Singapore sleepers. Shoppers can now explore detailed side-by-side explanations of natural latex mattress, memory foam mattress, and pocketed spring mattress options, all tailored to local humid conditions. Natural latex mattress models, such as the Somnuz® Comforto 10 Inch Bamboo Fabric Latex Individual Pocketed Spring Mattress (now from $299), offer responsive bounce, natural hypoallergenic properties, and excellent breathability — ideal for hot Singapore nights and sleepers who prefer quick recovery and easy movement. Memory foam mattress choices deliver deep body-contouring pressure relief, cradling shoulders, hips, and lower back while reducing motion transfer for couples. Meanwhile, the best-selling pocketed spring mattress range, including the Somnuz® Comfy 10 Inch Individual Pocketed Spring Mattress (now from $279), provides targeted 5-zone support, strong edge stability, and superior airflow.

By presenting these three core mattress types together, Somnuz makes it easier for customers to understand the real differences: the lively responsiveness of a natural latex mattress, the hugging contour of a memory foam mattress, and the steady, independent-coil support of a pocketed spring mattress. The guidance also highlights how each material performs over time in Singapore’s warm, humid climate, helping buyers avoid common misconceptions and select the best long-term fit.

Size planning receives equal attention in the updated guidance. Many Singapore bedrooms have limited floor space, making super single mattress sizing a popular and practical choice. Somnuz’s detailed bedroom fit resources clearly explain that a super single mattress measures 107 cm by 190 cm — offering noticeably more sleeping width than a standard single without the full footprint of a queen or king. This size strikes an excellent balance for individuals, young couples, or growing families who want extra comfort without sacrificing movement space around the bed, wardrobes, or side tables.

The guidance further integrates adjustable beds as a complete bedroom solution. Customers learn how any mattress type — natural latex mattress, memory foam mattress, or pocketed spring mattress — pairs seamlessly with Restro Adjustable Bases. These adjustable beds allow customised positions for reading, watching, or elevating legs to relieve back pressure, transforming the bedroom into a versatile sanctuary that adapts to modern lifestyles.

Somnuz’s approach combines powerful online resources with in-person validation at its physical mattress store. The website at somnuz.co serves as a comprehensive educational hub where shoppers can explore room layout visualisers, super single size guides, material comparison charts, and over 370 verified customer reviews (currently averaging 4.88★). Detailed articles explain how a natural latex mattress or memory foam mattress might feel in a small bedroom versus a more spacious one, and how adjustable beds can maximise limited floor area.

Once shortlisted, the Somnuz Experience Centre at 134 Joo Seng Road, Level 2, Luventus Building, Singapore 368359, becomes the perfect next step. Open daily from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM, this welcoming mattress store offers a relaxed, no-pressure environment where customers can test natural latex mattress, memory foam mattress, and pocketed spring mattress models side-by-side. Visitors can lie down, compare firmness levels, assess how each mattress interacts with different bedroom layouts, and even try full adjustable beds setups with expert team guidance. The hybrid online-to-in-store journey ensures every shopper leaves with complete confidence that their chosen mattress Singapore will fit both their body and their room perfectly.

All Somnuz mattresses are backed by a robust 10-year warranty and come with practical perks designed for Singapore homes: free delivery island-wide, generous current promotions, and flexible 100-night trial options on selected models. These customer-friendly policies, combined with the brand’s focus on bedroom fit guidance, remove common barriers and make premium sleep solutions genuinely attainable.

This expanded bedroom fit guidance aligns perfectly with 2026 trends in Singapore’s mattress market. As urban living spaces remain compact and lifestyles grow busier, homeowners are prioritising mattresses and bedroom setups that deliver both restorative comfort and smart space efficiency. Demand continues to rise for natural latex mattress, memory foam mattress, and pocketed spring mattress options that perform well in humid conditions, along with flexible solutions like adjustable beds that adapt to changing needs. By placing stronger emphasis on practical room planning, super single sizing, and material comparisons, Somnuz positions itself as the go-to mattress store for thoughtful, future-ready sleep solutions.

“Our broader goal is to support Singapore shoppers through every stage of the journey — from the first online search for a mattress Singapore to the moment the new bed is perfectly placed in their home,” the spokesperson added. “Whether you ultimately choose a natural latex mattress for its lively breathability, a memory foam mattress for deep pressure relief, a pocketed spring mattress for steady support, or enhance any of them with adjustable beds, Somnuz provides the expert guidance, clear size recommendations, and hands-on testing needed to create a bedroom that feels just right. Better sleep starts with better planning, and we’re here to make that planning simple, clear, and confident.”

As Somnuz continues to refine its digital tools, educational content, and in-store experience, the brand remains committed to one clear mission: helping every Singapore home find a mattress that fits perfectly — in every sense of the word.

LeBron James makes 76ers debut

CAMDEN, New Jersey — LeBron James took his seat and fidgeted with a microphone before he tossed his identification placard on the ground. “You guys know who I am, right?” James asked. Sure do. No introduction needed. LeBron James, the most famous basketball player in the world and the NBA's career scoring leader, was indeed in a No. 23 Philadelphia 76ers jersey. He's happy to play for the Sixers, happy to play with close friend and fellow All-Star Tyrese Maxey and happy to start a record 24th NBA season — with no promises of how long his career is going to last. James did make one vow: He's not in Philadelphia to lose. “I didn't leave my family,” James said Monday, “to lose in the second round.” James, Maxey, Joel Embiid and the other new star Sixers player, Jaylen Brown, were all on hand for media day ahead of the start of training camp and what figures to be the most anticipated season in Philly since Julius Erving's heyday. James is the undisputed star of the show. The usual assortment of beat writers and bloggers were dwarfed inside the Sixers' complex in New Jersey by cameras and questions from media entities far beyond the NBA scope. James, naturally, handled himself like a true professional, used to the global spotlight since he was put on a basketball pedestal as a teenager. “Understand that the noise is going to be the noise,” James said. “What happens outside of this building is going to consistently happen, and it's going to be doubled and triple and quadrupled down on you. It just comes with the territory. I understand it.” Much as James did for Cleveland when he ended a 52-year championship drought for the city by leading the Cavaliers to the title in 2016, he's in Philadelphia largely to help snap a championship drought for the Sixers that stretches to 1983 — just one year before James was born. The Sixers went 45-37 last season and were swept in the second round by the eventual champion New York Knicks. Enter a summer makeover already boosted by the shocking trade with Boston for Brown and anchored by James’ arrival. The 41-year-old James — new teammate Justin Edwards called him “Unc” — signed a modest $8 million, two-year contract on the veterans’ minimum with the Sixers. The contract might be the minimum. The outlook is pretty much championship-or-bust for a franchise that has failed to advance out of the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs since 2001. So how will James mesh with Maxey? Pay heed with Embiid? Bond with Brown? Pretty easily, actually — for now. “I think the luxury of my game is, I can do everything,” James said. “Literally, I can do everything.” He can back up the boast. He’s a 22-time All-Star, a 21-time All-NBA selection, a four-time Most Valuable Player, a four-time NBA Finals MVP, a three-time All-Star Game MVP and a member of the NBA’s 75th anniversary team. He also is coming off a season with the Lakers in which he averaged 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game. For his career, he has averaged 26.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists in more than 1,600 games. “Him being here is really cool,” Maxey said. His pull with James had an added benefit — Maxey got him on the team text group chat. VJ Edgecombe said he organized a thread once Brown was traded, but the idea got complicated once James signed in July. “LeBron came, and obviously I don’t got LeBron James’ number,” Edgecombe said. “I can’t say, ‘go add 'Bron to the group chat.’ Besides, even if I had his number, why would I randomly add LeBron to a group chat? You get what I’m saying? So I told Tyrese to do it.” James weighed his career options after flirting with retirement at the end of last season. The pull to stay at his family home in Los Angeles rather than moving to the East Coast was tempting. James noted that one son plays college ball at Arizona, his daughter just started middle school and “my oldest son, my former teammate, is starting his third year in Los Angeles.” That, of course, would be Bronny James. Don't forget his wife, Savannah, whom James noted “is doing so many unbelievable things right now in her own personal journey.” After time away with family, and still feeling physically and mentally strong in offseason workouts, James decided he wanted to keep playing. With key members of Sixers ownership and the front office watching from the side, James declined to get into the issue of how much longer he wants to play. His lone focus, he said, was learning how to play with new teammates — most, like Embiid, haven't won a title — and trying to bring the championship mentality he knows so well from winning titles with the Cavaliers, Heat and Lakers to the Sixers. “I hope that I can, you know, bring that experience, bring that knowledge, bring the blueprint to the guys that's trying to accomplish some things that they haven't done in their career,” James said. “I've seen everything that this league has to offer on the floor and off the floor, so I hope that every single day with my approach to the game, approach to the work, that it can translate to every single guy." James started his career in Cleveland in 2003 and spent seven seasons with the Cavs before heading to Miami for four seasons — where he won his first two NBA titles. He then returned to Cleveland for four more seasons, including that title run in 2016, and left in 2018 for the Lakers. He won a title in LA in 2020. He won't set a timetable on how many years he has left in his career. “I don't want to speak on the future right now,” James said. “I think that would be doing a disservice to myself on just living in the moment, especially knowing that I am where I am in my career.” Unbelievably, that's Philadelphia.

Wemby ready for NBA Spurs to move rivals in climb to top

SAN ANTONIO — Victor Wembanyama said he still struggles to sleep sometimes following San Antonio's loss to New York in June's NBA Finals, but the French superstar predicts the Spurs will be tougher this season. "We're fighting for the top spot of the mountain," Wembanyama said on Monday. "We're going to have to move people in our way." The 7-foot-4 (2.24m) center reached his first NBA Finals in only his third season since being selected first overall in the NBA Draft, but the Spurs fell to the Knicks in five games. "I couldn't imagine better motivation," Wembanyama said. "We're in a great spot, very hopeful, very ambitious and ready. "We won the West last year and we don't want to do anything less this year. We want to be the first seed and we want to keep fighting for the top spot." Wembanyama said there remains an emotional toll from the heartbreak. "We have to go through some emotions and some of that you have to go through alone," said Wembanyama. "Hard to find sleep sometimes, hard emotions. "There's a just a point where you accept that you have to go through it and feel all of it. We're going to face these emotions, face the reality that we have 100 games to play." "Wemby" was last season's NBA Defensive Player of the Year and led the league in blocked shots for a third consecutive season. The 22-year-old Frenchman said he felt the Spurs' 22-game playoff run last season made him better. "It feels like going through something of great magnitude," he said. "I never played so many games or so many minutes. We still pushed through it. "I'm in better shape than I could have expected right now just off experiences and growing." Wembanyama is prepared to be the hunted among NBA clubs instead of chasing other favored clubs. "It feels like we're in our place. It feels normal," said Wembanyama. "There are high expectations around us. We will play each team at their best every night. No one will be surprised by our performances now." Wembanyama averaged NBA career highs of 25.0 points and 11.5 rebounds last season as well as 3.5 assists, 3.1 blocked shots and 1.1 steals a game for the Spurs.

Clippers apologize to fans amid Leonard scandal

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Clippers on Monday apologized to fans and warned of grave challenges ahead after the NBA franchise was hit with severe penalties for its violations of salary cap rules. Earlier this month, the Clippers were fined a record $30 million, stripped of five first-round NBA Draft picks and had multiple leadership figures banned after a probe uncovered violations involving payments to former star Kawhi Leonard. After initially pledging to fight the sanctions, the Clippers have since pledged to comply with the NBA's decision. They begin their new season on October 21 against the Sacramento Kings. "Obviously, this took a little longer than we had hoped. You guys deserved to hear from us before this. Our fans deserved to hear from us before this, and for that, we're sorry," said Trent Redden, interim head of basketball operations, at the team's media day. Redden was standing in for Lawrence Frank, one of several Clipper executives suspended over the scandal, along with team owner Steve Ballmer. Redden said running the team "will be a challenge without them" and warned that the "penalties we are facing are significant." "These challenges are large, not just the penalties, but some of the injuries that we've already faced as well," he added. Forward Brandon Ingram -- one of two players the Clippers acquired in exchange for trading Leonard back to the Toronto Raptors -- will miss the start of the new season as he recovers from surgery on a partially torn Achilles tendon, said Redden. Shooting guard Bradley Beal will miss the start of training camp due to a knee injury, while young star Jordan Miller will not be available for months after surgery to repair a torn left rotator cuff. "This franchise often has done its best work with its back against the wall," said Redden. "We hope to represent our fans the same way we always have in dark times -- by coming out fighting." The NBA investigation found the Clippers aided Leonard in evading salary cap rules in deals worth millions of dollars with team corporate sponsors when he signed in 2022. The probe found the club induced companies to enter into agreements with Leonard by offering them business, paid personal expenses for Leonard and his representatives, and failed to report improper solicitations for income opportunities by Leonard's then-business manager. John Gibson, a Los Angeles lawyer and long-standing Clippers fan, has been appointed interim governor and chief executive officer during Ballmer's year-long suspension. Netanyahu asked Sheikh Mohamed to deny the report, according to a person said to have firsthand information about the meeting. Netanyahu’s office had previously denied the Haaretz report. The person, along with a regional official briefed on the meeting, spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the secret trip. The UAE’s Foreign Ministry declined to comment on reports about the meeting but stressed it maintains “open and direct lines of communication” with Israel and shares “all relevant intelligence.” There was no immediate comment from Netanyahu’s office. But the Shin Bet, Israel's internal security service, filed a complaint with Israel’s chief military censor against Channel 12 over what it called a serious censorship violation. It said the timing of the report endangered the prime minister and the operation and forces on the ground and exposed Shin Bet operational methods. The PMO said Channel 12 reported the flight at 9:38 p.m. while the plane was still outside Israel and about an hour before it landed. —By Josef Federman in Jerusalem and Samy Magdy in Cairo EU applies for observer status in a Saudi mission in the Red Sea The European Union is applying for “observer status” in a new multinational maritime defense coalition led by Saudi Arabia formed to protect the kingdom’s energy exports. The bloc’s top diplomat Kaja Kallas made the announcement on Monday, ahead of a Brussels meeting. The energy-hungry EU is facing record energy prices due to the war in Iran. Kallas said she will ask for an expansion of the bloc’s own small naval force in the Red Sea dubbed ASPIDES to help escort cargo vessels through the key strategic chokepoint of the Bab el-Mandeb strait and protect them from attacks by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Kallas said the “need is bigger than it’s ever been” for more ships. It’s unclear what observer status in the Saudi-led coalition would mean operationally for either the EU or ASPIDES. Supreme leader says Iranian troops defended the Strait of Hormuz from the enemy Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has praised his country’s fighters for allegedly preventing “enemy forces” from “roaming freely” in the Strait of Hormuz. Khamenei said in a message carried by the state broadcaster on Monday that Iran’s enemies now “do not come" closer to the strait than the Arabian Sea, which is part of the Indian Ocean. Soon, "the Arabian Sea too, will be rid of them,” said the message, issued to mark the two-year anniversary of the killing of the militant Hezbollah group's longtime leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon. Khamenei hasn't been seen or heard publicly since the opening attacks of the war on Feb. 28 that killed his father and previous supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. WHO says more people have been killed or wounded in Yemen The World Health Organization said Sunday it has documented 164 deaths and 645 injuries from the war in Yemen between Sept. 19 and Sept. 26. This brings the overall casualties since Aug. 6 to 4,481, with 838 fatalities. The latest intense fighting between the Iran-backed Houthis and Yemeni government forces has displaced more than 180,000 people. Israeli strikes in Gaza kill at least 1 person, wound others A woman was killed and her husband wounded when an Israeli strike hit a Gaza City rooftop on Monday, Shifa Hospital officials said. Another person was also wounded and in critical condition. The Israeli military later said it was aware of this strike and was looking into its results. Later Monday, a second Israeli strike, on a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp, left one person critically injured, according to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza. The Israeli military said it targeted a “military operative,” but did not immediately provide further details or identify the individual. More than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed since the Gaza ceasefire took effect nearly a year ago. Around half of that number are women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which maintains detailed records that international organizations consider reliable. UN envoy says West Bank settler violence at ‘unprecedented levels’ The United Nations' acting Mideast envoy said Monday that settler violence in the West Bank has reached “unprecedented levels” – often with Israeli forces present. Ramiz Alakbarov told the U.N. Security Council that 630 documented settler attacks between June 13 and Sept. 18. resulted in casualties, property damage or both. Three Palestinian communities were "fully depopulated" during that period, he said, "bringing to 49 the number of communities fully displaced under similar circumstances since January 2023.” Israel’s expansion of settlements in the West Bank, in violation of international law, also threatens prospects of a contiguous Palestinian state and a two-state solution, Alakbarov said. An Israeli minister vows to press on with West Bank settlement project Israel’s polarizing Cabinet minister in charge of settlement construction, Bezalel Smotrich, has condemned a decision by the attorney general to freeze a contentious project near Jerusalem. Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara ordered the project to be put on hold until after the Oct. 27 elections so it wouldn't “be used for election propaganda.” The project — known as E1 settlement development — is especially controversial because it would carve out a strategic section of the West Bank in a way that critics say would destroy hopes for a viable future Palestinian state. Smotrich accused on X Baharav-Miara of “interfering in the election campaign” and acting in the service of Netanyahu’s political opponents. Israel reprimands Spain over youth minister's controversial remarks Israel summoned the Spanish Embassy’s chargé d’affaires over remarks by Spain's youth minister who declared the country's public support for a Palestinian state “from the river to the sea” — a slogan that implies a call for the elimination of the Israeli state. The Israeli Foreign Ministry said Monday that Spanish Youth Minister Sira Rego’s remarks were “part of a systematic anti-Israel policy pursued by the Spanish government” and its leader, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Rego was barred from entering Israel in Sept. 2025.
