The recognition underscores M bank's continued focus on digital banking innovation, as Global Finance honors the neobank for the second consecutive year.

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, October 25, 2026 -- Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, October 26, 2026 -- M bank has been named Asia-Pacific's Most Innovative Digital Bank 2026 by Global Finance, a respected authority in international financial rankings and industry analysis. Alongside the main title, M bank was also recognized as Best Neobank of the Year in Asia-Pacific, marking the second consecutive year that the bank has been honored by Global Finance, following its recognition across three categories in 2025. While M bank was recognized in Mongolia last year across three categories, “Best Consumer Digital Bank,” “Best Digital-Only Bank,” and “Best Online Product Offerings,” this year it has advanced its achievements to the regional level, earning recognition in two Asia-Pacific sub-categories for digital banking innovation and neobanking.

The annual World's Best Digital Bank Awards, now in its twenty-seventh year, is an international program that recognizes achievements and innovation in digital banking, evaluating digital banking capabilities across markets and categories.

Innovation at the Heart of Mongolia's Digital Banking Shift

M bank is Mongolia's first Neobank, a fully digital bank of the next generation: branchless, queueless and always open. Built around technology and mobile access, its financial products are designed to be more flexible and easier to use, serving both consumers and businesses.

Recognized by Global Finance for the Second Consecutive Year

The 2026 recognition follows M bank's awards in 2025, when it was named Mongolia's Best Consumer Digital Bank, Best Digital-Only Bank and Best Online Product Offerings. Receiving recognition in consecutive years demonstrates the continued development of M bank as a fully digital bank, and the consistency of its focus on digital innovation.

Reinventing Banking Simplicity for Everyday Users

It has been four years since M bank began its operations, and during this time, the bank has redefined what it means to be a Neobank in the digital age. Customers no longer need to spend much time accessing banking services: M bank makes it possible to enjoy fast, reliable and convenient banking anytime, anywhere.

The recognition from Global Finance reflects the impact of these efforts and underscores the growing role of Neobanks in reshaping financial accessibility in emerging markets. With this award, M bank is positioned not only as a national leader in digital innovation, but as an example of how a fully digital banking model can take hold in a new market.

Russia to host 2030 world weightlifting champs in Olympic federation first

PARIS, France — Moscow was announced Sunday as host of the 2030 world weightlifting championships, the sport's governing body becoming the first Olympic federation to hand Russia global staging rights since 2022. No world championships in an Olympic sport, summer or winter, have been held in Russia since the start of the war against Ukraine. The 2025 world swimming champs, initially attributed to the Russian city of Kazan, were moved to Singapore. "Concerning the IWF (Senior) World Championships in 2029, it will be staged in Ahmedabad (India), and Moscow (Russia) will host the 2030 edition," the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) said in a statement. IWF general secretary Jose Quinones added that "all the bids we received were excellent and we are sure that the championships in your respective countries will be a huge success". In a post on Telegram, Russian Weightlifting Federation president Aleksandr Vinokurov thanked the IWF "for their trust", with the 2030 world champs also serving as a qualifying event for the 2032 Olympic Games. "Russia has all the necessary experience and capabilities to host competitions of the highest level," he said. "Moscow has repeatedly staged major international sporting events and has modern infrastructure." The federation toasted its success in snagging the hosting rights. "The Russian Weightlifting Federation is the first Olympic sports federation to succeed in bringing a top-level official competition back to the country in many years," it said. The decision to name Moscow as the host is a ground-breaking one and comes in the wake of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announcing a pathway for Russian athletes to compete in international competition. A state-sponsored doping program implemented, according to the World Anti-Doping Agency, at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, and the assault on Ukraine launched by President Vladimir Putin in 2022 resulted in Russians competing in various guises at international competition, most recently as Individual Neutral Athletes. However, on July 7 Russia came in from the cold when the IOC eased restrictions on Russian athletes and opened a pathway for them to compete in qualifying events for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. A furious Ukraine filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) requesting that the IOC decision be annulled.
