Author Margaret Liu Collins brings an uplifting book in "God is Good: Revised Second Edition," her memoir of being of a divorced mother of two who experienced divine intervention, including her child's recovery from a coma and her journey to finding new love – all in the grace of the Lord.

Through "God is Good: Revised Second Edition," readers across the globe get to gain crucial insight into the ways in which individuals are willing to go to get what they want without regard for the people they would be hurting along the way. While Collins' initial pieces of experience in life are harrowing, this leads to a happier resolution because of her continued belief in God and His plans.

The author's deep-rooted faith in the Lord is seen through each page of this compelling and engaging book. Collins herself expressed commitment to continue sharing God's message, pointing to her own life as a clear example of how faith can transform our daily lives.

In a review on Amazon, Ghulam M., one of the readers, described the book as an "inspiring reminder" that no matter how bad things may seem, there is always hope if one relies on the greater plan of the Almighty.

"It's a roller coaster ride of emotions and highly recommended for anyone who feels that they have been forgotten by God during dark times. It's a testament to the power of faith and perseverance. A great read" wrote Ghulam.

Dan, another reader, said Collins had a complicated life that became an enriching experience since she let God into her life.

"In "God is Good," author Margaret Liu Collins recounts her experience and what she learned in her relationship with God. It is one of those books that I find by chance, and when I begin to read it, I realize that I had had these same beliefs for years. I am very happy to find these words written down with which I share so much. God is good. Just like that is what I always believed. Without punishment, without judgment, with constant mercy and love," wrote Dan.

Margaret was born in Chongqing, China, and went to St. Stephen's Girls College in Hong Kong. She later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

After being a science teacher, she founded and held the Chief Executive Officer title of a real estate brokerage firm, Liu Realty, Inc., and is the founder and CEO of Liu International Management LLC. She served as a director of nonprofit firms, including Grace Cathedral, The Episcopal Dioceses of Northern California, California Pacific Medical Center, The University of California Berkeley Foundation Board, and the San Francisco Symphony.

Russia to host 2030 world weightlifting champs in Olympic federation first

PARIS, France — Moscow was announced Sunday as host of the 2030 world weightlifting championships, the sport's governing body becoming the first Olympic federation to hand Russia global staging rights since 2022. No world championships in an Olympic sport, summer or winter, have been held in Russia since the start of the war against Ukraine. The 2025 world swimming champs, initially attributed to the Russian city of Kazan, were moved to Singapore. "Concerning the IWF (Senior) World Championships in 2029, it will be staged in Ahmedabad (India), and Moscow (Russia) will host the 2030 edition," the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) said in a statement. IWF general secretary Jose Quinones added that "all the bids we received were excellent and we are sure that the championships in your respective countries will be a huge success". In a post on Telegram, Russian Weightlifting Federation president Aleksandr Vinokurov thanked the IWF "for their trust", with the 2030 world champs also serving as a qualifying event for the 2032 Olympic Games. "Russia has all the necessary experience and capabilities to host competitions of the highest level," he said. "Moscow has repeatedly staged major international sporting events and has modern infrastructure." The federation toasted its success in snagging the hosting rights. "The Russian Weightlifting Federation is the first Olympic sports federation to succeed in bringing a top-level official competition back to the country in many years," it said. The decision to name Moscow as the host is a ground-breaking one and comes in the wake of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announcing a pathway for Russian athletes to compete in international competition. A state-sponsored doping program implemented, according to the World Anti-Doping Agency, at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, and the assault on Ukraine launched by President Vladimir Putin in 2022 resulted in Russians competing in various guises at international competition, most recently as Individual Neutral Athletes. However, on July 7 Russia came in from the cold when the IOC eased restrictions on Russian athletes and opened a pathway for them to compete in qualifying events for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. A furious Ukraine filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) requesting that the IOC decision be annulled.
