Oct 23, 2026

Melia Advisory Group (918-794-9290) serves Tulsa-area residents with retirement income planning, IRA management, estate planning, and Social Security analysis, all structured around an income-based approach designed to help clients build toward dependable retirement income.

Tulsa, United States, October 23, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Melia Group has announced its retirement planning services for residents of Tulsa and surrounding communities, with an income-based approach at the core of its work. The firm focuses on clients who are nearing or already in retirement and are looking to shift away from the growth-oriented strategies of their working years toward financial plans designed to support dependable income over the long term.

Melia Group notes that fee structure matters because it directly affects how much of a retirement portfolio a client retains over time. Advisory costs can take several forms, the firm says: a percentage of assets under management, a flat annual fee, hourly planning rates, or commissions tied to product sales. For high-net-worth individuals, Melia Group says a fee as low as 1% can compound significantly over the life of an account.

Understanding these models may help retirees look beyond the stated cost and consider what a fee actually covers. Advisory fees can fund a broader range of services than portfolio oversight alone, Melia Group notes, potentially including retirement income planning, tax strategy, and coordination with estate planning. Clients weighing an advisory relationship benefit from knowing the full scope of services included before committing.

Retirement plan costs more broadly tend to fall into four categories, according to Melia Group: investment management, administration, individual services, and consulting. Additional charges such as participant transaction fees for loans or distributions can also apply, the firm notes, which is part of why it emphasizes setting clear fee expectations from the start of an advisory relationship.

Melia Group offers services that span the full scope of retirement planning, from income strategy and IRA management to estate planning, Social Security analysis, and Medicare planning. The firm’s income-based approach is designed to help clients plan toward dependable income regardless of whether retirement is years away or already underway.

Melia Group is led by Greg Melia, who serves as president of the Tulsa-based firm. He is joined by financial advisors Becky Benanzer and Madison Lynch, who also serves as senior health specialist. Those interested in learning more about the firm’s services can call (918) 794-9290 or visit the company website.

Russia to host 2030 world weightlifting champs in Olympic federation first

PARIS, France — Moscow was announced Sunday as host of the 2030 world weightlifting championships, the sport's governing body becoming the first Olympic federation to hand Russia global staging rights since 2022. No world championships in an Olympic sport, summer or winter, have been held in Russia since the start of the war against Ukraine. The 2025 world swimming champs, initially attributed to the Russian city of Kazan, were moved to Singapore. "Concerning the IWF (Senior) World Championships in 2029, it will be staged in Ahmedabad (India), and Moscow (Russia) will host the 2030 edition," the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) said in a statement. IWF general secretary Jose Quinones added that "all the bids we received were excellent and we are sure that the championships in your respective countries will be a huge success". In a post on Telegram, Russian Weightlifting Federation president Aleksandr Vinokurov thanked the IWF "for their trust", with the 2030 world champs also serving as a qualifying event for the 2032 Olympic Games. "Russia has all the necessary experience and capabilities to host competitions of the highest level," he said. "Moscow has repeatedly staged major international sporting events and has modern infrastructure." The federation toasted its success in snagging the hosting rights. "The Russian Weightlifting Federation is the first Olympic sports federation to succeed in bringing a top-level official competition back to the country in many years," it said. The decision to name Moscow as the host is a ground-breaking one and comes in the wake of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announcing a pathway for Russian athletes to compete in international competition. A state-sponsored doping program implemented, according to the World Anti-Doping Agency, at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, and the assault on Ukraine launched by President Vladimir Putin in 2022 resulted in Russians competing in various guises at international competition, most recently as Individual Neutral Athletes. However, on July 7 Russia came in from the cold when the IOC eased restrictions on Russian athletes and opened a pathway for them to compete in qualifying events for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. A furious Ukraine filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) requesting that the IOC decision be annulled.
